Answers to your common questions.
Getting certified is easy. All you have to do is show you know how to use your headset and get good quality EEG data. If your data from the certification experiment has good quality you will be certified.
We have manuals and videos to provide you information on how you can correctly use your headset and get good quality EEG data. You can also head to our Forum or Knowledge base to pick up useful tips and tricks.
You earn by using your headset to contribute to EEG research. The more time you spend contributing to research, the more you can earn.
Please ensure that you follow the instructions on how to put on your headset and get good quality EEG data so that your dataset will not get rejected due to quality issues.
Most experiments will be paid experiments. There may be some which are on a voluntary basis. This will be clearly stated on each experiment.
There may be specifications set by individual researchers for their experiments that will affect whether you will qualify to contribute. It is advisable that you fill out your demographics to make it easier to know if you will get paid for an experiment.
There are also Emotiv Games you can try. These are great ways to learn about how your brain works. You challenge yourself and can see how your brain performs by comparing your performance metrics against your age group and over time.
Anonymised metadata (demographic details, survey responses, comments, and EEG data, but excluding personally identifiable information) will be shared with the researcher as required. The study findings may be used in scientific publications, media reports and articles in written, video, audio, or interactive formats. Study findings will not be linked to your identity in any way unless specifically mentioned.
You can withdraw from the study at any time by closing the browser and your data will not be shared with the researcher. At any time if you wish to withdraw any of your data permanently from the study, please e-mail privacy@emotiv.com to request your data from the study be deleted.
